Shivtek Spechemi Industries, part of the Shiva Group of Industries, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bodal Chemicals to acquire about eight acres of land in Rajpura, Punjab.
The company plans to invest Rs 50 crore in land acquisition and the first two phases of its new specialty chemical manufacturing facility. The upcoming plant will be located next to Bodal’s existing chemical facility, enabling direct chlorine pipeline supply. According to Shivtek, this integration will reduce logistics costs, enhance operational safety, and lower carbon emissions. The unit will produce chlorinated paraffin, chlorinated polyethylene (CPE), and green plasticisers, catering to demand from plastics, rubber, and alternative materials sectors.
Amitt Nenwani, Managing Director of Shivtek, said land has been secured not only for the present facility but also for future expansions, highlighting the synergy with Bodal in building efficient chemical ecosystems. Ankit Patel, Executive Director of Bodal Chemicals, noted the MoU ensures a stable chlorine offtake, improves utilisation, and reduces storage risks. The plant, incorporating solar power and Zero Liquid Discharge (ZLD) systems, is expected to start operations by late 2026 or Q4/FY27.
