Electric vehicle maker Simple Energy has commenced commercial manufacturing of India's first rare earth-free electric motors at its Hosur facility in Tamil Nadu.

This innovation supports the company's "Built in India, for the World" vision and aligns with sustainable, self-reliant, and geopolitically neutral supply chains. The new motors, developed with patented in-house technology, offer high performance and torque without using heavy rare earth elements traditionally sourced from China. Instead, Simple Energy employs optimized alternative compounds and proprietary algorithms that manage heat and torque in real time.

CEO Suhas Rajkumar emphasized the necessity of deep localization and a robust "Make in India" strategy to ensure the future of electric mobility. The initiative showcases India's growing technological independence in EV manufacturing and contributes to global sustainability goals without compromising performance or strategic autonomy
