Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has plans to build a 37-acre campus at Kochi's Kinfra electronics manufacturing cluster, with an expected addition of employment for 10,000 people. The firm will invest Rs 690 crore towards this electronics R&D and IT/ITeS initiative.

Alongside this, TCS is also scouting for office space at Kochi's InfoPark for 5,000 seats, with the government facilitating this through negotiations with developers.

The company’s expansion efforts come amid increasing demand for office space in Kochi, where the government is expanding InfoPark by 500 acres. In Kozhikode, discussions for a cyberpark expansion are also underway. The government is also reclaiming the Smart City project land in Kakkanad, initially developed in partnership with Dubai-based Tecom Investments.

In recent developments, IBM has expanded its presence in Kochi, establishing its largest GenAI Innovation Centre in India at InfoPark, which has the potential to create employment for over 5,000 people. This move aligns with Kochi becoming IBM's fastest-growing global campus.

“The government plays a facilitator’s role trying to help investors find space across the tech parks in Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram, and Kozhikode,” stated Industries, Law & Coir Minister P Rajeeve.
