Techno Digital, the digital infrastructure arm of Techno Electric & Engineering Company, will invest USD one billion to establish a nationwide network of hyperscale and edge data centres with a combined capacity of 250 MW over five years.
The initiative begins with the launch of a 36 MW AI-ready data centre at Siruseri Sipcot IT Park, Chennai. Spread across 2,00,000 sq. ft., the facility can host about 2,400 high-density racks with flexible power densities from 10 kW to 50 kW per rack.
The company's upcoming facilities include an 18 MW data centre in Noida, set for 2026 launch and a 13 MW unit in Kolkata (2027). Techno Digital has also partnered with RailTel to develop 102 edge data centres across Tier-II and Tier-III cities.
CEO Ankit Saraiya said, “Our Chennai AI-ready hyperscale data centre is a big step in advancing India’s selfreliance initiative. Though we lead the world in data consumption, our share of global data centre capacity remains less than 3%—a gap that represents one of the greatest opportunities of our time.”
