Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka announced that Telangana plans to generate 20,000 MW of renewable energy and create 1.14 lakh employment opportunities by 2030 under its Clean and Green Energy Policy-2025.
Speaking at the Telangana Praja Palana Dinotsavam in Khammam, he said the initiative involves investments worth ?1.98 lakh crore. He highlighted schemes like solar power plants of 2 MW capacity run by women self-help groups under the Indira Mahila Shakti scheme and solar pump sets for 550 tribal farmers under the Indira Solar Girijana Vikasam Scheme.
Infrastructure projects underway in Khammam include a Rs 180-crore cable-stayed bridge across the Munneru river, a Rs 130- crore medical college, and a 50-bed critical care block.
