Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the state government’s focus on producing high-value products to transform Odisha into the manufacturing hub of Eastern India.
Speaking at a foundation stone-laying event for 27 industries across 12 districts, CM Majhi highlighted that investment inflows are boosting industry confidence in the state’s policies. Over Rs 25,000 crore is being invested in these projects, expected to generate employment for more than 52,000 youths. The projects cover major sectors including renewable energy, rare earth minerals, textiles, chemicals, and others.
Since taking office 15 months ago, the BJP government has approved 260 industrial projects with investments totaling Rs 5.6 lakh crore, potentially creating 3.6 lakh employment opportunities. The government has also laid foundations for 84 industrial projects, attracting over Rs two lakh crore investment and creating around 1.64 lakh work opportunities. CM Majhi assured industrialists of supportive policies and industry-specific incentives, emphasizing Odisha’s upward movement in the manufacturing value chain to compete globally.
