Telangana's Roads and Buildings Minister, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy, announced a major road development initiative involving the construction of 5,555 km of roads under the hybrid annuity model (HAM).
This Rs 10,547-crore project, set to begin by year- end, will encompass 400 roads across 32 packages, marking one of the state’s largest infrastructure upgrades. The HAM model, which minimises government expenditure in the first year, will help transform Telangana’s road quality and connectivity, positioning it as a national leader in infrastructure. Minister Venkat Reddy defended the project’s transparency and cost- effectiveness, citing its long-standing success in other states.
The government is also encouraging small and medium contractors to take part in the tenders, releasing Rs 100 crore worth of pending bills to support their participation.
