Telangana is set to create its first man-made beach at Kothwalguda, with the detailed project report (DPR) currently in preparation stage.
Spread across 35 acres, the project is estimated to cost Rs 225 crore and will be developed by the Telangana State Tourism Development Corporation (TSTDC). TSTDC Chairman Patel Ramesh Reddy announced that the beach will feature floating villas, luxury hotels, and a wide range of adventure sports such as sailing, bungee jumping, skating, and water sports.
Additional attractions will include a wave pool, fountains, theatres, restaurants, shacks, cycling tracks, and dedicated play zones for children. The site was chosen for its land availability and connectivity via the Outer Ring Road. Currently, the nearest beach to Hyderabad is Suryalanka in Andhra Pradesh, 320 km away, while the new Kothwalguda beach will be just 20 km from Gachibowli.
