The Minor Irrigation & Ground Water Development Department, Karnataka has floated a tender for a lift irrigation project in Haveri district.
The initiative aims to fill 111 tanks across Hanagal Taluka by drawing water from the Varada River, routed through Naregal and Kusanur villages. The contract worth Rs 169.05 crore is part of the state's ongoing efforts to improve irrigation infrastructure, enhance water availability, and support agricultural sustainability in drought-prone regions.
The scope involves the survey, design, supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project, and includes construction of a forebay, jackwell cum pump house, installation of vertical turbine pumps coupled with HT motors, power transformers, electrical substation, transmission line, and terminal bay. The contractor shall also be responsible for operation and maintenance.
The bid submisison date is 24 October, 2025.
