Titagarh Rail Systems has secured a Rs 1,598.55-crore order as a specialised subcontractor for the Mumbai Metro Line 6 from NCC, following a letter of acceptance (LoA) dated 02 August 2025.
The contract involves the design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, testing, and commissioning of rolling stock — 18 trains of six cars each, totalling 108 metro coaches — for the Swami Samarth Nagar to Vikhroli (Eastern Express Highway) corridor.
The scope includes a design-build period of 24 months, followed by a two-year defect liability maintenance period (DLMP) and an additional five years of comprehensive maintenance post-DLMP. The advanced rolling stock will be designed to meet high passenger comfort, safety, and efficiency standards, supporting MMRDA’s vision for modern, sustainable urban mobility.
