The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MoEF&CC) has accorded terms of reference (ToR) to Nabha Power’s 1x700 MW thermal power project.
The project will come up within the premises of the existing 2x700 MW Rajpura thermal power project at village Nalash, Tehsil Rajpura in Patiala district of Punjab. The project was accorded ToR on 13 January 2011 but could not get coal linkage and hence the company again submitted a fresh application for the expansion.
The power plant will come up on 1.078 acre of land.
The project will entail an investment of Rs 4,400 crore and is scheduled for completion in 36 months. It will generate employment for 1,000 people in the construction phase and for 1,000 people in operation phase.
