A tripartite memorandum of understanding was signed between Airports Authority of India (AAI), Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO), and the Government of Jharkhand for development of Deoghar Airport in Deoghar district of Jharkhand.
The Deoghar Airport will be developed for operations of A-320 and C-130 aircraft.
Apart from the existing 53.41 acre of Deoghar Airport land, the state government has acquired 600.34 acre of land which will be handed over to AAI.
DRDO will provide Rs 200 crore, and the state government and AAI will provide Rs 50 crore to develop, operationalise and maintain the airport.
The project is to be developed in two years.
