Two of the three consortiums have been
shorlisted as consultants for the Bangalore Metro rail Corporation's
elevated light rapid transit system. The consortiums now short-listed are
- RITES, New Delhi, which partners
with Tonichi Engineering Consultants, Japan,
- iDeck, Bangalore; and BCEOM India,
which partners with Semaly France, and TOSTEMS, Japan.
The consultants appointed will guide
the BMRC on the technology to be adopted and the type of public-private
partnership model to be followed in the implementation of different corridors of
monorail. The following corridors have been identified for operating monorail:
- Corridor I - From Kanakapura Road
to Mysore Road Junction with a T connection from Kathriguppe to National
College.
- Corridor II - From Bannerghatta
National Park to Adugodi.
- Corridor III - From Jnanabharathi
to Mysore Road (Outer Ring Road) with a T connection to Toll Gate on Magadi
Road.
- Corridor IV - From Tumkur Road on
Outer Ring Road to Bellary Road.
