Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu announced that his government will complete all pending irrigation projects in Rayalaseema, presenting a detailed blueprint for the region’s development.

During his visit to the Srisailam project, he offered Jala Harathi to the Krishna river and lifted the gates to release water. He expressed enthusiasm over the dam reaching full capacity. The CM also assured water supply to Jeedipalli reservoir by July 15, and reaffirmed the completion of the Polavaram project by 2027.

He also stressed boosting horticulture, millet, and fruit cultivation with 90 percent subsidy on drip irrigation. Industrial parks at Kopparti and Orvakal, along with renewable energy projects, are planned. A key agenda is the interlinking of major rivers and complete projects like Telugu Ganga, K-C Canal, and SRSP to increase water storage from 554 tmc to 1,004 tmc.

The CM emphasised that while Rs 68,000 crore was spent on irrigation projects between 2014–19, just Rs 2,000 crore was incurred by the previous administration. Now Rs 3,390 crore has been invested in the Handri-Neeva project alone.
