Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath is set to lay the foundation stone for the International Film City in Sector-21 along the Yamuna Expressway in Greater Noida during the ‘Bhoomi Pujan’ ceremony scheduled today. The mega project is being spearheaded by Bayview Bhutani Film City, a joint venture between veteran filmmaker Boney Kapoor and the Bhutani Group, in collaboration with the Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA).
Bollywood actors and the Bhutani family will also attend the event. After addressing earlier regulatory concerns—including the required 15 percent green cover, structural safety, and NOCs—YEIDA approved the 80-acre industrial segment of the project. The Film City will span 1,000 acres and unfold over four phases in eight years.
The first phase alone, estimated to cost between Rs 900 crore and Rs 1,510 crore, will develop nearly 230 acres and include key filmmaking infrastructure: 13–14 sound stages, a film and TV institute, permanent outdoor sets, an underwater shooting studio, actor accommodations, a convention centre, and a film museum. Officials project up to five lakh employment opportunities from the venture.
