Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Growth Markets Funds, has appointed POWERCON as the sole asset manager for a 300 MW wind energy project in Karnataka.

This marks the first instance of a fully independent, full-scope asset management model being implemented in the Indian renewable energy sector. POWERCON will oversee all operational, corporate, and financial aspects of the project, signaling a new benchmark for governance and performance optimization in the country’s wind energy landscape.

Envision, the Wind Turbine Generator OEM, will supply the technology, while POWERCON will ensure performance governance of both WTGs and Balance of Plant systems. Their scope also includes stakeholder engagement, regulatory compliance, and dynamic power off-take strategy, in strict alignment with CIP’s HSSE, ESG, and cybersecurity protocols.

On the corporate side, POWERCON will manage budgeting, insurance, reporting, tax compliance, and financial settlements. This integrated management structure enables CIP to enhance operational transparency, boost returns, and focus on long-term renewable development and capital deployment.
