Larsen
& Toubro (Oman), a Muscat-based subsidiary of L&T, bagged an order worth
Rs.96 crore from Ministry of Regional Municipalities Environment and Water
Resources (MRMEWR) for the construction of a sewage treatment plant including a
sewerage network at Willayat Nizwa in Oman.
The
sewage treatment plant, with a capacity of 5,600 cubic metres per day, will have
a sewerage network extending over 48 km. PVC pipes of varying diameters ranging
from 200 metres to 560 metres will be laid for 40 km and DI pipes of 8 km will
be used for pressure main and associated pumping station and related works.
Work
on the project is likely to commence in March 2006, with completion scheduled
within 18 months.
