The Mormugao Port Trust ((MPT) has
received three international bids, with two more companies showing interest in
the construction of the berth for cruise vessels and container traffic on build,
operate and transfer (BOT) basis at Baina Bay.
The port which is keen to join the
national cruise circuit by developing a permanent cruise terminal of
international standards is scouting an operator through process of competitive
bidding.
The project, estimated to cost Rs.185
crore is at the tendering stage, will consist of a berth with a length of 500
metres and will require dredging upto 11 metres with a breakwater facility.
