Orissa Hydro Power Corporation
in collaboration with MMTC is planning to set up a 2,000 MW thermal power plant
in the state.
Although the project location is not yet finalised, the company has
shortlisted Bekamalanga in Angul
district as a probable location.
Initially, two units of 500 MW each is
planned with a total investment of Rs.4,000 crore. Both the state government and MMTC will
bring in Rs.600 crore, it is learnt. OHPC and MMTC will have respective equity
stakes of 51 per cent
and 49 per cent in the project.
