The ECC division of Larsen & Toubro has secured contracts worth Rs.347 crore from
Kerala Water Authority, for the construction of treated water transmission main
and associated works.
Aided by Japan Bank for International
Co-operation (JBIC), the packages are part of the water supply improvement
schemes, which will benefit around 43 lakh people in Kerala.
The scope of work involves
augmentation and rehabilitatation of water supply systems in urban regions like
Thiruvananthapuram and Kozhikode districts. It also includes supply, laying,
jointing, testing and commissioning of various pipelines running to an
approximate length of 170 km.
TCE Consortium led by Tokyo
Engineering Consultants Co, Japan, will be assisting KWA throughout
the implementation of the project. Work on the project is scheduled for
completion within a period of 22 months.
