Airports Authority of India is soon
expected to finalize consultants who will assist in selecting private sector
entities for the development of select non-metro airports. These consultants
will undertake the documentation and associated work for inviting RfPs from
prospective developers. These developers, singly, joint venture consortia or
private consortia, will undertake the city-side development of select non-metro
airports.
Meanwhile, AAI has also started
upgrade (airport side) work on 19 out 35 non-metro airports. These include
Khajuraho, Jaipur, Nagpur and Bhubaneshwar. AAI has also appointed an
international technical advisor and an Indian financial consultant for carrying
out the techno-economic feasibility study for the 35 airports. These reports,
with respect to 25 airports, have been prepared.
