Hyderabad based Kirby Building
Systems, a subsidiary of Alghanim Industries in Kuwait, secured a Rs.190 crore
order from Renault-Nissan Automotive India for constructing the latter's
manufacturing facility near Chennai using pre-engineered steel buildings.
The total facility will be spread over
300,000 sq.mtrs and will include buildings for stamping, trims and chassis, body
shop, power train and painting. Around 20,000 tpa steel will be used for the
project
Kirby will also be handling the
designing component. While the components will be fabricated at its plants in
Hyderabad and Haridwar, these will be assembled in Chennai. The project, to be
carried out in phases, will be completed by April 2009.
