Thermax is planning to double its
water and waste solutions business by focusing on urban water projects. It is
looking at opportunities arising out of increasing urbanisation, declining water
quality and stringent discharge regulations.
Thermax will be bidding for large
industrial projects for waste water treatment. The company has commissioned a
Rs.34 crore project in Chandigarh recently and has already commissioned sewage
treatment projects for UP Jal Nigam, Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation,
Kukatpally Municipality in Andhra Pradesh.
Besides, sewage, Thermax is also
working to mitigate the pollution of water bodies caused by industrial effluent
with recent projects for three effluent treatment plants for Reliance Power.
