Vestas India has bagged an order worth Rs 600 crore to supply 60 wind
turbines for a wind farm to be set up by the CLP Group in Tamil Nadu.
The company is expected to supply 1.65 MW wind turbines for the 99 MW wind
farm to be set up in Theni, Tamil Nadu. The scope of work includes supplying and
commissioning the turbines, installing an online monitoring system and a 10-year
service and maintenance agreement. The turbines are likely to be supplied from
Vestas' Chennai plant from the fourth quarter of 2009.
The proposed wind farm is expected to be commissioned in January 2010.
