Envision Energy India, the country’s leading wind turbine OEM, is set to invest Rs 500 crore to expand its manufacturing capacity, taking its cumulative investment in India to Rs 1,000 crore since 2016.
Backed by a strong order book exceeding 10GW–12GW, the company aims to scale production to five GW annually. Managing Director RPV Prasad stated, “With an order book exceeding 10GW-12GW, it is crucial that we produce and deliver products to our customers at a costeffective scale.”
The expansion plan includes setting up a second blade manufacturing plant near Ahmedabad, a gearbox production facility in Pune, and enlarging its existing Trichy unit from four to six moulds. The nacelle and hub plant in Pune will also increase its capacity from three GW to five GW.
Gearbox manufacturing in India will leverage Envision’s global expertise, reducing dependence on imports and enhancing cost efficiency. This strategic expansion underscores Envision’s commitment to the Indian renewable energy sector.
