In a significant move to boost healthcare infrastructure in Tripura, the state government signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi.
The agreement aims to transform the Tripura Medical College and Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Memorial Teaching Hospital into a premier medical hub in the Northeast. The MoU was signed on Wednesday between AIIMS Delhi and Tripura’s Health and Family Welfare Department in the presence of Chief Minister Manik Saha in New Delhi.
CM Saha emphasised that the partnership will enhance the quality of medical education, infrastructure, and patient care in the state. Under the agreement, AIIMS Delhi will offer technical expertise, guidance in medical education, and support for research and capacity building. The collaboration is expected to benefit both students and patients by improving training standards and clinical services. This initiative is part of Tripura's broader goal to make quality healthcare accessible and turn the state into a regional center for medical excellence.
