Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will inaugurate a major urban development drive, laying the foundation for 1,300 projects worth Rs 769 crore across 33 districts.
Spearheaded by Bihar Urban Infrastructure Development Corporation (BUIDCO) and Patna Smart City (PSCL), the initiatives focus on road construction and repair, drain development, park upgrades, and installation of high-mast lights. “This massive investment is poised to enhance public services and the overall quality of life for citizens,” said BUIDCO Managing Director Animesh Kumar Parasher.
Simultaneously, the Maurya Lok Complex in Patna has been transformed with a Rs 15-crore upgrade, featuring the 12,000 sq. ft. multi-purpose ‘Maurya Mandapam’, a rooftop banquet hall with pillar-free steel framing, a modern two-screen multiplex, an 80-seat fine dining restaurant, a gymnasium, and a yoga centre. He highlighted that eco-friendly light gauge steel technology ensured faster, more durable construction.
The project also includes renovation of Maurya Tower’s sixth and seventh floors into 24,000 sq. ft. of commercial space and beautification of Swami Vivekananda Park, reflecting the state’s broader “development for all” mission.
