The Goa Cabinet on 22 September, 2025, approved seven major development projects valued at Rs 2,500 crore, to be executed through public-private partnership (PPP) to accelerate completion.
The projects include redevelopment of key government buildings such as the Junta House and Circuit House in Panaji, construction of the new Prashasan Stambh, reconstruction of government quarters at St Inez, renovation of the government garage, and building a new Kadamba Transport Corporation bus stand at Vasco in South Goa.
Chief Minister Pramod Sawant highlighted that undertaking these projects independently would have required the state government to spend the entire Rs 2,500 crore.
The National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC) will undertake the projects under the PPP model, with work scheduled to commence within 10 to 15 days. This move is expected to enhance infrastructure development in the coastal state efficiently while leveraging private sector participation.
