In a key push for industrial growth, the Bihar government has approved the acquisition of 466 acres of land in Munger district to expand its industrial area.
The Cabinet, chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, allocated about Rs 125 crore for the project, which officials said would create new opportunities for investment, employment, and economic development. Land will be acquired from multiple locations, including "24.99 acres in Asarganj, 81.18 acres in Dhuria Arazi, 190.09 acres in Berain, 6.01 acres in Kharbhatua, 18.66 acres in Jorari and 30.39 acres in Badarkha," totaling 466.49 acres.
In addition, the Cabinet approved a new food store and training centre under the Bihar State Food and Civil Supplies Corporation, with an annual budget of Rs 4.65 crore. The facility will train officers and employees on food storage, distribution, and effective management of government schemes. Officials noted that regular sessions will ensure timely delivery of ration and essential supplies. Together, the two decisions are aimed at strengthening industrial expansion and public services across Bihar.
