The Bihar government is set to launch three major road projects along the Ganga river under the hybrid annuity model (HAM), with an estimated total cost of Rs 17,000 crore.
The projects to be developed include Digha-Sherpur-Bihta-Koilwar (35.65 km) at Rs 6,495.79 crore, Munger (Safiabad)-Bariyarpur-Ghorghat-Sultanganj (42 km) at Rs 5,119.80 crore, and SultanganjBhagalpur-Sabour (41.33 km) at Rs 4,849.83 crore. These roads are expected to boost tourism and economic activity, offering scenic routes along the river and significantly reducing travel time.
The nearly 84-km stretch connecting Munger, Sultanganj, and Bhagalpur is poised to become a major regional connector and will also serve as a ring road, easing congestion. Tenders have been awarded, and CM Nitish Kumar will lay the foundation stone on October 04, ahead of the upcoming Bihar Assembly elections.
