Container Corporation of India (CONCOR) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Bhavnagar Port Infrastructure (BPIPL) on 04 September, 2025, in New Delhi to operate and maintain the upcoming container terminal on the northside of Bhavnagar Port, Gujarat.
BPIPL had earlier entered into an agreement with Gujarat Maritime Board (GMB) in September 2024 for the development of the port, with 235 hectares of land leased for 30 years and scope for an additional 250 hectares of expansion. The terminal will cater to the logistics requirements of Central Gujarat, the Dholera Industrial Belt, and even extend services to the National Capital Region (NCR).
As the designated container terminal operator, CONCOR will oversee operations, management, and marketing of the facility. This move represents a strategic step in CONCOR’s forward integration into port operations. With its extensive pan-India terminal network and large rolling stock fleet, CONCOR aims to deliver efficient, reliable, and cost-effective services. CMD Sanjay Swarup emphasised that the collaboration will add value for customers while strengthening CONCOR’s leadership in the logistics sector.
