The Chitaguppi Hospital in Karnataka will be upgraded under the Smart City project. The Hubballi-Dharwad Smart City (HDSCL) added the project to upgrade Chittaguppi Hospital in May 2019.
The HDSCL board approved the proposal and tenders have been floated for the work. As per the plan, Chitaguppi Hospital will turn into a multispecialty hospital within two years and have minor operation theatre, ICU, NICU, labour room, post-delivery rooms, casualty block, outpatient departments, laboratory and other facilities.
HDSCL is also planning to demolish the old building and construct a five-storey building in its stead. The hospital currently has 47 beds. The pharmacy, ultrasound and x-ray facility, OPD and diagnostic labs are housed in a separate building adjacent to the hospital.
