Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma reviewed the development of the Unity Mall in Jaipur, aimed at promoting ‘Make in India’ products and supporting the ‘One District One Product’ (ODOP) initiative.
The project has received Rs 100 crore from the Union finance ministry under a special assistance scheme, half of its Rs 200 crore allocation. Groundwork for the mall is nearing completion, with construction set to begin in February 2025. The Unity Mall, covering 15,000 sq. mtrs. in the RIICO Fintech Park near Jaipur airport, will feature shops for ODOP, geographical indication (GI) products, and other state-specific goods. It will include a common training centre, classrooms, seminar halls, business meeting halls, and an open-air theater for promotional events.
Designed with four floors and nearly 200 facilities, the project aims to bolster Rajasthan’s industrial and cultural offerings. Ajitabh Sharma, principal secretary (industries), stated, "The bidding process for awarding the contract for construction will be completed by Jan next year." RIICO, the nodal agency for the project, is expediting its development.
The project aligns with the state's broader plans to develop the 100-acre Fintech Park for high-end services.
