LuLu Group Chairman and Managing Director MA Yousuff Ali has announced that construction of a mega shopping mall in Visakhapatnam will soon begin, providing employment to between 5,000 and 8,000 people.

Speaking at the Investopia-CII meeting in Vijayawada, the MD said the new mall would contribute significantly to the region’s economic development, similar to the LuLu Mall in Cochin, which currently employs 8,230 people. In addition to the Visakhapatnam project, LuLu Group will also set up a food processing plant and a hypermarket in Vijayawada. Plans are underway to establish similar hypermarkets in other cities across Andhra Pradesh.

These projects are expected to bolster employment creation across sectors. Regarding the proposed food processing unit, the region’s abundant raw materials would support uninterrupted supply to LuLu’s 38 global food processing plants. The Group already exports substantial volumes of fruits and vegetables from Andhra Pradesh, reinforcing the state's role in its global supply chain.
