Real estate major DLF is set to expand its retail footprint by opening two new shopping plazas near its residential complexes. The company's focus is on providing convenient, accessible retail options for its residents.
The two new projects, Midtown Plaza in Delhi’s Moti Nagar and Summit Plaza in Gurugram’s Phase-V, will serve residents of DLF’s premium developments such as Capital Greens and The Crest. These open-air plazas will offer a blend of retail spaces, food courts, hypermarkets, and co-working zones, catering to diverse needs within walking distance. Midtown Plaza, adjacent to DLF Capital Greens, will span 2,00,000 sq. ft., with approx. 75–80 percent of the space already leased out.
Meanwhile, Summit Plaza will be significantly larger, covering 480,000 sq. ft., including more than 4,00,000 sq. ft. dedicated to retail and the remainder allocated for co-working areas. Both plazas are scheduled to open within the current financial year.
In addition to these developments, DLF plans to open two major malls – Mall of India in Gurugram and Promenade in Goa, reinforcing its bullish outlook on the future of organised retail in India. The Promenade is poised to become Goa’s largest mall, offering 7,00,000 sq. ft. of retail space and housing over 300 stores.
With this multi-pronged retail strategy, DLF aims to tap into the rising demand for integrated urban living, where residential, retail, and workspace needs are increasingly intertwined, and convenience is a prime driver of consumer behaviour.
