Evernorth Health Services, the pharmacy, care, and benefits solutions arm of US. multinational Cigna Group, opened its new Global Capability Centre (GCC) in Hyderabad on 19 November, 2024. Viewed as a vital addition to Hyderabad's growing global innovation hub, the GCC was inaugurated by Telangana IT and Industries Minister Sridhar Babu.
This strategic expansion aims to tap into Hyderabad's robust technology and innovation ecosystem, a decision highlighted by COO-Technology and Operations Neel Chopdekar. Currently housing 700 employees, the GCC plans to increase its workforce to 1,000 by April 2025, with plans for further growth. The facility spans four leased floors, each offering around one lakh sq. ft. of space and accommodating approx. 600 employees. Two floors are operational, with a focus on emerging technology roles such as data analytics, AI, cybersecurity, DevOps, and pharmacy benefits management.
The Minister commended Evernorth's investment as a reflection of the city’s thriving GCC ecosystem. It paves the way for continued growth in the region's GCC landscape.
