In a Cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar on 02 September, 2025 several key infrastructure projects received the green light, marking a significant step towards modernising Bihar’s road network.
Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin expressed gratitude to the Chief Minister, noting that the decisions would play a “vital role in the comprehensive development of the state” while enhancing connectivity for citizens. An administrative approval of Rs 589 crore has been sanctioned for constructing a high-level PSC box cell superstructure bridge with access roads from Fatehabad (Paru Block) to Chanchalia (Saraiya Block) over the Gandak River in Muzaffarpur district. This bridge will save time and fuel for thousands of commuters.
Additionally, the Cabinet cleared the revised JP Ganga Path project, stretching 20.5 km from Digha to Didarganj in Patna, with Rs 4,119.06 crore earmarked for land acquisition, utility shifting, and R&R works. The Bihar State Highway Project-III (Phase-2), funded by the Asian Development Bank, also received Rs 765.86 crore for upgrading SH-95, including bridges and ROBs, ensuring improved regional mobility.
