The Goa State Infrastructure Development Corporation (GSIDC) has sanctioned infrastructure projects totaling Rs 149 crore in its 206th board meeting chaired by Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant.
The projects are aimed at public convenience, urban rejuvenation, and institutional development, with a focus on improving the state's civic infrastructure. Key projects include the construction of a new boys' hostel at Goa Medical College, Bambolim, with an estimated cost of Rs 113 crore, and the demolition and reconstruction of a bridge at St Estevam village in North Goa, budgeted at Rs 21 crore.
Additionally, the redevelopment of the old bus stand at Margao in South Goa will be undertaken at an estimated cost of Rs 12 crore, along with the upgradation of the municipal market at Sankhalim and the redevelopment of old government buildings in Margao.
Addressing the Board, CM Pramod Sawant said, “These projects are part of the state government's commitment to upgrading civic infrastructure, improving public utility spaces, and building modern, accessible facilities for people.” He stressed GSIDC's pivotal role in delivering timely, quality infrastructure for Viksit Goa 2037.
