Lanka Dinakar, Chairman of the Twenty Point Programme Implementation Committee, thanked Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu for approving the linking of the Nallamala Sagar (Veligonda) project with the Bollapalli Reservoir to supply Godavari water.
This initiative aims to address severe water scarcity in Prakasam district, particularly in fluorideaffected areas like Kanigiri and Markapur. Chaiman Dinakar highlighted that over 1,000 villages in the region suffer from fluoride contamination, with 60 lakh people and seven lakh acres of land expected to benefit from the project. He expressed his gratitude to CM Naidu for his commitment to complete the project and improve the region's water supply, agriculture, and industrial development.
"The interlinking of the Krishna and Godavari rivers will transform the drought and fluoride-affected western area of Prakasam district," said Lanka Dinakar.
