Haryana Health Minister Arti Singh Rao announced on 15 July, 2025 that 785 medical facilities across the state—including primary health centres (PHCs), community health centres (CHCs), sub-health centres, and civil hospitals, are scheduled for upgradation.
Speaking at a press conference in Panchkula, the Minister said, “We have received administrative approval for upgrading 534 facilities, and discussions with the Public Works Department (PWD) are underway to accelerate construction and renovation work.” She highlighted that the number of first referral units (FRUs) in Haryana has more than doubled from 41 in 2014 to 87 in 2025, with more FRUs planned to provide specialist services.
Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini is set to inaugurate health infrastructure projects worth Rs 2,256 crore across all districts in the coming month. Additionally, foundation stones will be laid for new projects totaling Rs 594 crore.
To strengthen nursing education, the government is constructing six new nursing colleges. “The Rewari Government Nursing College has already been inaugurated, and construction of the remaining five colleges is over 90% complete,” Rao added.
