Hindustan Power has commenced construction of a 435 (MWp) solar power project in Lalitpur, Uttar Pradesh. The project was awarded in April 2025 by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation (UPPCL) through a competitive bidding process. Once operational, the project will supply clean electricity to the state for the next 25 years, significantly contributing to its renewable energy targets.
In an official statement, the company emphasised the long-term sustainability and regional employment aspects and development benefits of the project. While the company did not disclose specific financial details such as project cost or the tariff at which electricity will be supplied, the announcement reinforces Hindustan Power’s commitment to clean energy expansion.
Hindustan Power is one of India’s leading integrated power generation companies, with a growing portfolio in renewable and transitional energy sectors. The Lalitpur solar project aligns with India’s broader goal of increasing the share of renewable sources in its energy mix and supports Uttar Pradesh’s clean energy roadmap.
