A major tech park in Mangaluru is to be set up in Karnataka, and IT/BT Minister Priyank Kharge has announced that the state government would soon seek Cabinet approval for it, with discussions expected either this week or next.
Speaking at the fifth edition of ‘Technovanza-2025’ organized by the Karnataka Digital Economy Mission (KDEM), Minister Kharge revealed that the proposed park would be built on 3.25 acres, featuring a 3.5 lakh sq. ft. facility and involving a Rs 3,500 crore investment. Aimed at accelerating Mangaluru's emergence as a tech hub, Kharge called for bipartisan cooperation from local MLAs and the MP.
Highlighting Karnataka’s Global Capability Centers (GCC) policy, Kharge said the state targets 500 new GCCs by 2029, creating employmet potential of 3.5 lakh.
