The Maharashtra Housing and Area Development Authority’s (MHADA) plan to
provide 7,000 affordable homes in Mumbai may not see light of day, as it has
decided not to bid for the National Textile Commission’s (NTC) Bharat Textile
Mill’s property at Worli as planned.
Earlier, MHADA had offered to buy the 8.4-acre property at its base rate of
Rs 750 crore to construct houses for low-income category. However, NTC did not
receive MHADA’s offer for technical bids for the property.
Companies including Tata Realty, Lodha Group, Videocon Realty, Oberoi
Constructions, IndiaBulls and DB Realty are in fray for the Bharat Textile
property.
