Megamart, the retail
arm of Arvind Brands is likely to opt for franchising route to reach its
targeted turnover of Rs.1,000 crore in the next two years.
In its bid to increase
its presence across the country, the retail major is planning to have 25 large
format outlets and 500 small format stores in about five years. The small format
stores will come up on 2,000-4,000 sq ft at an investment cost of Rs.50 - 60
lakh per store whereas large format outlets will be set up on 40,000-60,000 sq
ft at an investment of Rs.2-3 crore per outlet. First emphasis will be given to
Tier II and Tier III towns in the country.
