The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has invited bids for the construction of a South-East bypass for Azamgarh city in Uttar Pradesh.
The bypass will connect National Highway-28 (at existing chainage km 218.800) to the Purvanchal Expressway (at existing chainage km 247.850), covering a total length of 14.905 km. The estimated cost of the contract stands at Rs 548.14 crore. The work is to be executed on an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) mode. The construction period is set at two years, followed by a maintenance period of five years.
The project aims to decongest city traffic and enhance connectivity between major highways, promoting regional development and reducing travel time. The deadline for bid submission is 13 November 2025.
