The National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) announced plans to boost skill development across India by launching 50 Future Skills Centres and 10 NSDC International Academies. These initiatives aim to enhance workforce readiness and train over two lakh candidates in emerging technologies, increasing employability for both domestic and global job markets.
CEO, Ved Mani Tiwari outlined the vision to expand industry-aligned programs beyond 300, covering 12 key emerging technologies like aerospace, automotive, mining, and infrastructure. Currently, NSDC has partnered with 33 global corporations and set up 21 Future Skills Centres within Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). Over 200 programs have been industry-assessed and certified, training more than 27,000 candidates and developing 1.20 lakh sq. ft. of training infrastructure.
NSDC's future plans include collaborations with 15 premium institutions, launching over 30 micro-credential programs, and awarding 1.8 lakh credits to students. These specialized training programs will integrate OEM tools and industry-specific curricula to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical skills, creating structured pathways for employment.
