RITES has secured a turnkey contract worth Rs 47 crore from the Department of Collegiate and Technical Education (DCTE), Karnataka, for the construction and renovation of Government First Grade Colleges at various locations across the state.
The project falls under the PM USHA (University Grants Commission’s Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan) Scheme. Previously considered on a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) basis, the project has now been converted into a turnkey contract, meaning RITES will be responsible for the execution of construction, renovation works, and project management, including their service fees. The contract value covers the cost of the project plus RITES fees.
The work is to be completed within 36 months from the date of agreement. The project aims to improve learning environments and promote access to quality education for students across multiple districts in Karnataka.
