Odisha TEX 2025 highlighted the state’s growing stature in the textile and apparel industry, emphasising its goal to build a world-class ecosystem for manufacturing, innovation, and employment generation. The inaugural edition was held on July 25.

The event saw the signing of 33 MoUs, unlocking Rs 7,808 crore in investments and creating potential employment for over 53,300 people. Over 160 companies, including industry leaders like Page Industries, First Step Baby Wear, KPR Mills, Sportking, Adarsh Knitwear, Anubhav Apparels, Bon & Co., and BL International, participated, representing the full textile value chain—from yarn to technical textiles.

Key announcements included the launch of six advanced textile & footwear parks with plug-and-play manufacturing facilities, modern workers’ hostels, and multiple skill development MoUs, particularly focused on empowering women with expertise in automated garmenting and textile technology.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced increased employment cost subsidies—from Rs 5,000 to Rs 6,000 for male workers and Rs 6,000 to Rs 7,000 for female workers under the Odisha Technical Textile & Apparel Policy 2022. He also declared that Odisha TEX will become an annual event, reinforcing Odisha’s rich handloom heritage and bold leap into modern textiles. A dedicated Task Force will ensure fast-track implementation, with the goal of creating over 1 lakh jobs by 2030 across emerging textile clusters.
