Public Works Department (PWD), Delhi has announced plans to extend the underconstruction Munak Canal elevated road to Kashmere Gate, with a four km tunnel between Inderlok and Kashmere Gate ISBT.

This project is designed to create a high-speed corridor connecting North Delhi with Central Delhi. The PWD has initiated the preparation of a detailed project report (DPR) for the extension, which is part of the Delhi government's strategy to ease congestion and improve road infrastructure. Once completed, the corridor will offer a signal-free route from the Delhi-Haryana border to Central Delhi, reducing travel time by up to 40 percent

. The project will especially benefit commuters from North and Northwest Delhi, as well as those traveling from Haryana, and ease traffic bottlenecks at key locations like Mukarba Chowk and Azadpur.
