Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jharsuguda, Odisha, on September 27, shifting from the originally planned Ganjam location due to heavy rain forecasts in coastal areas.

PM Modi will address a public gathering at Amlipali Ground near Veer Surendra Sai Airport, where he last appeared in 2018 for the airport’s inauguration. The visit will focus heavily on infrastructure development, with over Rs 1,700 crore worth of railway and civic projects lined up. Key highlights include laying the foundation stone for the Rs 273 crore Sambalpur City–Sarla flyover and inaugurating railway line doubling projects—34 km of Koraput–Baiguda and 82 km of Manabar–Koraput–Gorapur—totalling over Rs 1,400 crore.

The Prime Minister will also flag off the Amrit Bharat Express between Berhampur and Surat, strengthening interstate connectivity. Other announcements will include IIT expansions, medical infrastructure upgrades, skill programmes, and Antyodaya scheme support for 50,000 beneficiaries under the ongoing ‘Seva Parv’ campaign.
